Frustration-driven Josephson phase dynamics

چکیده
The Josephson equations predict remarkable effects concerning the phase state of a superconducting junction with an oscillating current induced by static voltage. Whether paradigm can be twisted yielding voltage without making use harmonic drives is fundamentally relevant problem yet not fully settled. Here, we demonstrate that dynamical regime evolution general hallmark driven systems exhibiting sign competition in couplings. We show frustrated dynamics gets switched on driving changeover among different ground states, which varying parameters set state. Remarkably, character transitions space allows types dynamics, few or several harmonics. This result sets out characteristic mark any system couplings and exploited to disentangle complexity underlying phases.

Nonlinear phase dynamics in a driven bosonic Josephson junction.
We study the collective dynamics of a driven two-mode Bose-Hubbard model in the Josephson interaction regime. The classical phase space is mixed, with chaotic and regular components, which determine the dynamical nature of the fringe visibility. For a weak off-resonant drive, where the chaotic component is small, the many-body dynamics corresponds to that of a Kapitza pendulum, with the relativ...
متن کاملFrustration driven stock market dynamics: Leverage effect and asymmetry
By applying inverse statistics to financial data it has recently been found from empirical studies that indices exhibit a pronounced gain-loss asymmetry [M.H. Jensen, Phys. Rev. Lett. 83 (1999) 76; I. Simonsen, M.H. Jensen, A. Johansen, Eur. Phys. J. B 27 (2002) 583; M.H. Jensen, A. Johansen, I. Simonsen, Physica A 324 (2003) 338]. This gain-loss asymmetry appears to have some similarities with...
متن کاملNon equilibrium phase diagrams of current driven Josephson junction arrays
We present a review of our previous numerical studies on non equilibrium vortex dynamics in Josephson Junction arrays (JJA) driven by a dc current. Dynamical phase diagrams for different magnetic fields, current directions and varying temperature are discussed and compared. First, the effect of thermal fluctuations in a current driven diluted vortex lattice (VL) is analyzed. The case of f = 1/2...
متن کاملCotunneling Transport and Quantum Phase Transitions in Coupled Josephson-Junction Chains with Charge Frustration
We investigate the quantum phase transitions in two capacitively coupled chains of ultra-small Josephson-junctions, with emphasis on the external charge effects. The particle-hole symmetry of the system is broken by the gate voltage applied to each superconducting island, and the resulting induced charge introduces frustration to the system. Near the maximal-frustration line, where the system i...
متن کاملPhase synchronization in an array of driven Josephson junctions.
We consider an array of N Josephson junctions connected in parallel and explore the condition for chaotic synchronization. It is found that the outer junctions can be synchronized while they remain uncorrelated to the inner ones when an external biasing is applied. The stability of the solution is found out for the outer junctions in the synchronization manifold. Symmetry considerations lead to...
